Our Photochemical Etching Washer Process

At Etchit, we use photochemical etching to create tight tolerance washers. Etched washers are:

  • Burr-free on both sides
  • Free of mechanical stress and distortion
  • Ideal for thin materials (.0005”–.032”)
  • Highly repeatable with excellent concentricity
  • Cost-effective for prototypes and short-to-medium production runs

Able to work with a variety of metal alloys and thickness, photochemical etching often produces cleaner results than traditional punch-and-die methods. This process also allows intricate features to be produced without material stress, rollover burrs, or tool wear distortion.
